Sì, l’antenna è una Cobra20, numero di serie AF05CB1682, ed è montata a soli 5 metri dal suolo, ma ho in progetto un traliccio di 20 metri con un braccio orizzontale per la Cobra20, la Cobra40 e la Venus80 che ho in mente di acquistare a breve.

E sì , hai di nuovo ragione. L’antenna l’ ho acquistata da Martin Lynch che offre un servizio fantastico.

La mia stazione è composta da uno Yaesu FT857D, una G5RV half size, un accordatore automatico LDG Z11, un’antenna bibanda collineare 144/440 MHz e dalla Cobra20.

Devo dire che la Cobra20 riceve segnali ben migliori della G5RV.

Ascolto stazioni con segnali S3-5 che con la G5RV proprio non ci sono.  Il mio primo QSO con la Cobra20 è stato con una stazione Russa (RA6CY) a circa 1800 miglia (2880Km) con un rapporto 5/7, quindi, per quanto mi riguarda, è un’antenna “maledettamente” buona.

Come ti ho già detto non vedo l’ora di mettere le mani sui modelli per i 40 e per gli 80 metri.

Yes the antenna is a Cobra20, serial number:AF05CB1682 and it is at only 5 meters above ground level, but I have plans for 20 meter tower with a horizontal beam to support the Cobra20, the Cobra40 and the Venus80 which I am planning to purchase soon.

And yes, you are correct again. I bought the antenna from Martin Lynch who provides a fantastic service.

My setup is a Yaesu FT857D, a half size G5RV via a LDG Z11 auto atu, a 144/440 MHz collinear and the Cobra20.

I must say the Cobra20 receives signals far better than the G5RV.

I can listen to stations with signals S3-5 that with the G5RV are just not there. My first QSO with the Cobra20 was a station in Russia (RA6CY) some 1800 miles (2880 km) with a reprt of 5/7, so, as far as I am concerned it’ s a bloody good antenna.

As I’ ve already said I’ m looking forward to getting my hands on the models for the 40 and the 80 meters.
